Can a classic car be used as a daily driver?
Would a 1951 ford custom be a good daily driver car?
Sure, as long as you do a frame off restoration, toss a new engine and tranny in it and do lots of preventative maintenance.
Otherwise, nope.
Sure, why not? That would be cool even if it is in need of restoration you would get more looks if it is in fair condition and runs good
Why not
As long as its been kept in good mechanical condition
Even in good condition vehicles of this era require a lot of maintenance. Parts may be an issue. The brakes are not up to modern standards and there's very little in the way of safety features.
These cars ae good for weekends but every day unless you are a good mechanic can be a major issue.
Depends on if you expect to drive it like a modern car. It will be slow, and have terrible brakes compared to a modern car. My personal opinion? Do it, thats a great car.
- Why don't car companies remake some of their classic car models if people like them so much? Of course safety is in mind because everyone would freak out if they didn't have a seat belt and air bags in every inch of the car, but why can't some of the companies just remake their best selling car models? Dodge could remake their 1948 Sedan and Ford could remake their 1949 Custom. I could list more but I can't think of any more classics.
- Where in the UK can I hire a classic american car for self drive, ie, as driver not passenger? I want to hire a classic car preferably something like a dodge charger or ford 69 gto for a day or two as a gift to a petrol head, obviously I want him to be able to drive the car himself. We're London based but could be in surrounding areas to pick up the car.
- Would 2015 Ford Mustang GT be good as a daily driver in the city? Just wondering. Also want to know if the 2015 Corvette Stingray would be good as a daily driver in the city (probably not) but I want to know some reasons why the corvette is good/bad as a daily driver and the mustang.
- Old classic cars vs newer classic cars? I'm looking at a 1974 corvette stingray and I'm thinking about buying it but at the same time i've been looking at f-body and fox body camaros and mustangs I need help narrowing down my decision so I would like to hear your opinions on whether to get the 74 stingray or the f- body and fox body mustangs
