Buying up American companies?
I was asked what is one thing I would actually like to see happen, if I actually bought the queen Elizabeth Islands from Canada, and made an industrialized country there.
I said that I would like to see us start a company like this… "Augusta"…
And have it purchase Caterpillar, John Deere, CNH Industrial, AGCO, Toro, Ingersoll-Rand, De-Walt, Woodmizer,
Hyster-Yale, Crown Forklifts…
Halliburton, P&H Mining, Schramm, JCB Mining equipment and Joy Global.
Ford, Lincoln, GM and all the Chrysler Brands and Tesla… Land Rover and Jaguar.
Navistar, Freightliner and Paccar and Oshkosh trucks.
Allison Transmissions.
Bombardier, Nova Bus, New Flyer bus, and MCI coaches…
General Electric, Westinghouse…
Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, and General Dynamics and Textron and United Technologies,
Carrier and Trane…
Hewlett Packard, Xerox, Gateway, Dell Technologies, Motorola, IBM, View Sonic, Vizio, Microsoft and Apple… Intel, Oracle and Adobe…
And make a company like Mitsubishi's conglomerate…
And save them, by getting them out of the USA, making them here on the islands…
And putting engineers and quality control personnel in charge of their corporate operations and make sure that they're using the metric system.
Yep, if you had trillions of dollars you could do some pretty cool stuff.
No
- Won't car companies release old-style vehicles? Old-fashioned vehicles but with modern internals? Like the Chevrolet in Pulp Fiction or 1966 Ford Thunderbird and such. They're so beautiful
- Why don't car companies remake some of their classic car models if people like them so much? Of course safety is in mind because everyone would freak out if they didn't have a seat belt and air bags in every inch of the car, but why can't some of the companies just remake their best selling car models? Dodge could remake their 1948 Sedan and Ford could remake their 1949 Custom. I could list more but I can't think of any more classics.
- Why do some companies like Ford have a 5year warranty and others like Hyundai have a 10year warranty? Does the company with the longer warranty trust in their product longer? Or they know that the owner will have to do a ton of repairs and without a back up no one would ever buy them?
- What CAD software do aerospace and automotive companies use? As an engineering student, I'm learning how to use and become certified in SolidWorks. While SolidWorks is great and very useful, I don't imagine it is powerful enough for companies like Boeing or Ford or BMW to find useful. So, what kind of CAD/CAM software do companies like this use? Do they also use different kinds of software to visualize and simulate their designs?
