What else should i do After changing the EPC solenoid in a E4OD transmission?
I have A ford bronco 1996 5.8L v8 and i just changes the epc solenoid last week and the transmission is still doing what it was doing before i replaced The solenoid.
Well still doing it then another problem. Before throwing more time and money at it find local shop at ATRA.COM for a diagnosis and go from there. If it was just a solenoid you replaced and it was behind the linkage then its a 4R70W. The E4OD the solenoid is part of a solenoid block in the back end of the transmission
Most likely the problem was never the EPC solenoid in the first place. The E4OD/4R100W transmissions had a common problem with the center support wearing into the case and causing misalignment of the intermediate drum assembly and forward clutch assembly. The forward clutch consequently suffers from loss of oil pressure and causes slippage in all forward gears, and it eventually causes total failure of the clutch along with damage and/or complete failure of all other affected components. Basically you're looking at a complete rebuild with upgraded components to have it fixed right.
Then you got other issues. Verify the connector for fluid, but first is what is it doing?
- Where is the solenoid that controls gear shifts in an automatic transmission located at? I'm trying to replace the selenoid that controls gear shifts for a 2001 ford taurus but need to know where its located at
- Should Ford be studied for her ability to not remember details about her trauma after 13,000 days. But after 6 days with her lawyer? Her memory during her drunken stupor becomes crystal clear? Could Ford's techniques be used with alzheimer's patients, the elderly, and other drunks who experienced "black outs?"
- When changing the power steering pump on a KA (54) can you use PTFE tape to seal the pressure line from pump? I have changed the power steering pump on a ford KA (54) and when removing the pressure line from the pump there was some kind of seal on it but I don't know what it was, so I was hopping that PTFE tape would do the same job at sealing the thread. Any help please. Andy.
- I have a 2004 Ford focus zx3 and I'm wondering the cost of changing it to manual from automatic? I want to start modifying my car but its automatic but I'm not really sure what the price of it is. Or do you think i should just get a new car that has manual transmission?
