2014 Ford LXT supercab 3.7l question! Spark plugs?
I keep hearing a mix of opinions of weather i should use Anti-seized and Dielectric grease OR not on the Plugs and coils. First time doing the maintence on this truck.

I'll believe it when I hear it from Scotty Kilmer.

Never put anti-seize compound on spark plug threads! It'll add resistance plus makes it easier to over tighten them causing cracks that lead to misfires. Dielectric grease sparingly inside boots is good.
Anti-seize on the plug threads can make it much easier to remove the spark plugs way down the road ESPECIALLY if you have aluminium cylinder heads. Most tuneups in this day and age of fuel injection are anywhere from five to ten years. That's a long time to leave plugs in the heads. Dielectric grease is very important on the plug boots since the high temperatures can actually fuse the rubber boots to the spark plug body even if they are made of silicone rubber.
Using anti seize on plug threads will not harm them
the big secret is not to overtighten the plugs on insallation
be aware that there are two base anti seizes on the market so mget the one that is not reactive to alumimium ( details on the sides of the tins )
- Why is my 2009 ford flex shaking after spark plugs were changed? After doing a tune up on my 2009 ford flex, the car started shaking and the AC does not cool. What could be the problem? I used OE motorcraft spark plugs
- 1999 Ford escort water in spark plugs? Car shut off while driving so i pulled over to find a huge hole in the crank and motor oil spilling out. The car never over heated, but i got the crank fixed but when i put it on car won't start, checked the spark plugs to find water in the spark plugs also check the compression of the cylinders and all are at 0!
