Look where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine. That is where you will find the thermostat.
Within the thermostat housing located at the end of the upper radiator hose which is connected to the engine block.
Inside the thermostat housing. Thermostats rarely go bad. I'm thinking bad head gasket. Have your cooling system pressure tested.

- Ford KA Thermostat housing issue? The above image is of the housing. Whilst removing the old housing, the bolt on the top left of the housing (in accordance with the photo) snapped. It's stuck in the engine. I was wondering what impact it would have if I did not remove and replace the broken bolt. i.e. Left that part of the housing unsecured when replacing it with the new one. Pretty urgent so a quick reply will get the best answer!
