According to Autozone, O Reilly Auto Parts, Kelly Blue Book, and Edmonds Used Car Pricing, there's NO SUCH THING as a 1991 Ford Fairmont. According to Wikipedia, the LAST model year for the Fairmont was 1983. I suggest your biggest problem is that you have misidentified the vehicle. Take the VIN number to an auto parts shop for assistance.
The Ford EA Fairmont Ghia was manufactured 1989-1991 exclusively in Australia. The EB was manufactured in Australia as it's replacement starting in 1992. Front rotors and rear drums use 1/2x20 right hand thread lugs with 3/4 inch bolts.
- Why does my car shut off with too much pressure on the steering wheel? I have a 1990 Ford Tempo. I replaced the ignition to starter cable on it, as it would randomly shut off when taking a hard right due to corrosion on it. However, it still randomly shuts off when too much pressure is applied to the steering wheel. I was suspecting that maybe it is the ignition switch, but I don't have the money to go to a mechanic at the moment. Has anyone else had this problem? And how was it fixed?
