Which 02 sensor is the bank 1 sensor one on a 98 ranger xlt (4.0)?
I have had a check engine light on my 98 ford ranger xlt(4.0) for a while now and i'm finally getting to it. Ran it on a cheap computer and received P0133 as the code. A little research shows that its the O2 sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1.
First question, where is it located? I have had conflicting reports online saying driver side and passenger side. I'm no gear head in way shape or form but like to do the simple maint myself. I was able to find one o2 sensor on the passenger side but not sure if thats it or not.
Second question: I was able to get decent prices for the o2 sensor on Rock Auto but am completely oblivious to what o2 sensor i need… Upstream/downstream. I'm looking for to replacing both o2 sensors on that particular bank because i have read that there are 2 on the bank 1 side.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! If you need any further information to help you answer the question… Just ask and i will get back to you As soon as possible.
Driver's side is bank one.
- Bank 1 and Bank 2 too lean? I have a 2004 ford taurus. About a month ago the CEL came on, ran to advanced auto to get a code and they said my bank 2 was too lean. Yesterday, got a code run again and they said bank 1 and 2 too lean. They said it was probably my oxygen sensors. The car has developed a rough idle when first starting up and has lost some power and acceleration. I plan to take it to a mechanic soon, but until then i'm trying to find out what the problem is. Any suggestions?
- Would a long travel suspension kit built for a Ford Ranger Edge/Sport also fit on a Ranger XLT? I found a long travel suspension kit made for a 2002 ranger edge/sport but I have a XLT same year. Would it still fit on and function the same?
- Which is better? 1995 ford ranger which is stick or a 2004 Ford Escape? I'm a 16 year old boy and I'm lucky enough to have those two cars to choose from. Both have high mileage, like 350k on the ranger and 250k for the escape. Both have been serviced to a T. I really don't know which car would be best in the Long run. Meaning I don't know which one is most reliable and which one would be best for me and my use of maybe hauling my friends around. So which one do you think is the best choice?
- I have a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0L 2 Wheel Drive which I suspect the Proportional Valve maybe malfunctioning? When applying my brakes while slowing down from freeway speeds, I feel a pulsating sensation which seem to come from the rear drum brakes. Once my speed go below 40 MPH, the pulsation disappears. I don't have this problem when stopping from below 40 MPH. The rear brakes don't lock up when I apply brakes at any speed. But it could be that the pulsation while breaking down from high speed is normal.
