How long should it take to change timing chain?
The truck is a 2003 ford 150. It has three timing chains. Took it in on a Monday. He said it will be done by Wensday. But no calls. And it is now Monday and I called no answer. Should I worry now?
If you don't have the specialized tools to work on those over head cam chains, they can be a real bitc#. Can you happen to drive by the place? The NO ANSWER worries me, so you'd best get over there some how & find out. Now, if you're in the north east & in the blizzard, then the place is probably closed.
- How much does it cost to get timing chain done? Recently we bought a car 08 ford crown victoria at a car auction. It had a blown head gasket and we had a friend fix it for us, he put it all together and now car won't start. He thinks he did the timing chain wrong. - 2002 ford explorer xlt 4.0 timing chain tensioner? I'm thinking about replacing the timing chain front and right side tensioner it rattle doing cold start then when warm it goes away. I never worked with this type of vehicle and little worry about timing chain moving while I take the tensioner out. Any hint on how to remove this tensioner without going into bigger trouble.
