How much does it cost to get timing chain done?

Recently we bought a car 08 ford crown victoria at a car auction. It had a blown head gasket and we had a friend fix it for us, he put it all together and now car won't start. He thinks he did the timing chain wrong. Was wondering how much it would cost to take it to an actual mechanic to redo the timing chain. Also he thinks one of the heads are bad so how much would that cost as well?

You should have never bought it with a bad head gasket. The car is basically ruined. It's going to cost more than what it's worth to fix it. When you take it in they are going to tell you to replace the timing chain, not adjusted it. That alone is over $1,000. They aren't going to let you get by cheap.

Yeah man why would you buy a car with a blown head gasket thats one of the worst repairs a car can go through i paid 1000 to have my head gasket replaced by midas.wouldnt let someone no matter how good they think they are take my engine apart… Timing chain is gna cost you 300-400 by a shop. You can call shops and get free quotes. If you have money to play with like that id just take it in if the car is worth it.08 decenlty new so it might be

It, s going to cost you a arm and leg at the garage! If you do the work yourself you have to get number 1 piston all the way up, turn the crank by hand until it reads ( 0 ) on the timing scale and put the chain back on at 6 and 12 o, clock, 6 is for the cam gear and 12 is for the crank gear!
