Engine Light on newly owned Ford Fusion fwd 2016?
I just got this car 2 months ago. I have noticed a small slight problem with the car though. The only literal problem i can think of is usually when you push the gas on a car it should just go forward. With this car i recently noticed that when i push the gas sometimes it goes alittle then feels like it stopped for a very brief milisecond then continues like it should. Thats the only noticeable problem i can think of. I have heard people talking about how the gas cap can be a problem if cracked or loose. But the my ford doesn't have one. So that rules out that one problem there. So if any mechanic or someone with a FORD FUSION FWD 2016 has had this problem please let me know what it could be and how i can fix it.
It's under warranty. Time for a visit to your local Ford dealership garage!
The engine is surging. That is a hazardous condition and no car should run that way. The warranty, like Dan H said, should take care of the problem. The answer is not, "They all do like that…". Ford needs to fix it or give you one that doesn't run with that fault.
Why not use your factory warranty instead of random people on the internet?
I find it hard to believe you don't have a gas cap.

Yesterday I was at a stop sign and my car was on and the engine turned off and the battery and oil light came on so I turned off the car and turned it back on and it was working again so I decided to go to autozone so then I had them check the battery and they told me the battery was good and the alternator was good then they checked the car for any codes and it had 0 codes so I don't know what's wrong with my car it still runs but it shut off on me twice yesterday

After telling him that the car seemed okay, he went on to tell me how if the cars battery turns off you can't acess the hood or the trunk. This never even dawned on me. I went to auto zone no codes come up. It goes out when I drive but as soon as I go in reverse it comes on. Anyone know what it could be thanks.
- Which car is better for a newly licensed driver? I have three cars in mind. One is a 2008 Ford Escape with 110,000 miles on it, another is a 2007 Chrysler Sebring Touring with 91,000 miles on it, and another is a 2006 Saab 9-3 2.0t with 108,000 miles on it. I'm kind of leaning toward the Ford Escape because of its bigger size but I'm not sure.
