Turn signal problems on a car?

I just bought a 2001 Ford Focus se. It's my first car. My turn signals keep going in and out, they work occasionally and mostly they work but they do go out and whenever I flick it for the turn it just doesn't make any sound or light activity and then I'll drive around the corner and they'll work again. Is it an electrical issue? I've taken it to the shop for it but it never has the issue when they're looking at it so they send me home. My dashlights also aren't working, neither does my lighter in the car or my hand break if that makes a difference.

A lot of signal light problems stem from inadequate grounding. Run an extra ground wire from the light directly to the frame/

It sounds like the switch is bad, or you have a grounding problem or corroded connections somewhere.

  • Where are the turn signal fuses? 1995 bounder RV? Our 1995 Ford fleetwood bounder's turn signals don't work and we have to go across country tomorrow. We can't find the fuse box that holds them! There are no RV mechanics in the area either! The Manual only says it's under the instrument panel… Please help!
  • Shifting problems and intake problems? I drive a 1997 ford ranger with a 2.3l automatic. I have recently experienced a hard shifting in my truck even when I'm not on the gas it has problems shifting. And I cleaned my air filter and filter hose that goes to my throttle body and there was transmission fluid in the hose. What can be causing this and how can I fix it or how much will it cost roughly?
  • Can I be pulled over for a fast blinking turn signal? Both my left and right turn signals blink fast, but when I put my hazards on, they work normal. I got out, and all four LED's work, but blink SUPER fast. I have a 1999 Ford Ranger, and am not sure what's going on.
  • My front right turn signal isn't working on my 2014 ford transit? I replaced the bulb and it functioned for only a day. I switched it with a working bulb but it still flashes fast. Do you guys know what the problem is?
