Does this engine have a smog pump on it?

I'd like to buy this truck, it's a 1977 Ford F-150. The thing is, my state requires that any vehicle newer than 1975 have a smog pump and a catalytic converter on it. I don't want to buy this truck if it doesn't have the necessary equipment, does this engine have a smog pump on it? I already know the truck does not have a catalytic converter. Thanks. Does this engine have a smog pump on it

It would not have come from th factory with a smog pump. Just a pcv valve, I don't see one in the pic but its not taken from a great angle so its hard to say if someone could have installed one sometime in the last 15 or twenty years
you should be able to look at the smog stickers under the hood, it should have one on the drivers side valve cover if not have your local ford dealer look up the specs. Some with a unleaded only 351m engine may have had a smog pump installed at the factory ( these were usually sold in california only but a lot of california vehicles are in other states now )

I don't see a smog pump.

Doesn't look like it from that photo - if you know exactly what engine that is, then you can do a google image search for smog pumps for that engine… Here is a site with a photo of the smog pump located below the alternator - http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1186811-questions-for-passing-smog-1977-f-100-a.html… About 1/2 way down the page the 2nd photo
