I was hit by a drunk driver! I'm so confused?

Ok I probably sound like an idiot but oh well. I have a ford explorer last week I woke up in the middle of the night with an intense craving for fruity pebbles (I'm including this just to keep you i intrigued) lol at 0230a I was on my way to Walmart for some milk. As I was approaching a red light at an intersection I began to slow down. Before I made a complete stop my light turned green and I began to accelerate back up to the speed limit. While crossing a car going the opposite direction towards me attempted to make a left turn. I didn't have enough time to or space to avoid the collision. I hit his front right side. He didn't want me to call the police, he only wanted to exchange info. Neither vehicle was drivable so I couldn't understand. I later found out that it was because he had been drinking. He planned on making a left turn at the intersection and failed to see that I was going straight with the right of way. He thought it was a green arrow to turn. I called the police, they arrested him and they cleared me of any wrongdoing. He has full coverage ins and so do I. I just don't know how to proceed from this point. I, pretty sure my truck is totaled. It had to be towed back to my house. I can't really afford a lawyer for legal advise so I was hoping that someone out there could maybe help me figure out how to proceed. I'm scared I'm going to do something or say something that could be used against me. Can someone please offer any advice? Thank you

Added (1). When I say I'm confused I'm saying that I don't know how this process is supposed to work. Does his insurance call me, do I call them? Do I call my insurance? Is there anything I should avoid doing or be cautious about? I literally don't know what's supposed to happen from here on out. I feel really stupid.

Looks like your in the clear if they arrested him phone up your insurance company

This is what insurance companies deal with on a daily basis. Call them up, tell them what you mentioned here, and provide the police report number. They will handle everything else.

A few years ago I was involved in a collision with a drunk driver. Because the driver was over the legal alcohol limit, his insurance company covered all my repair costs, including my deductible and provided me with a rental the whole 2 weeks while my vehicle was being repaired.

You need to notify your insurance company As soon as possible about this accident. They will advise you. They will console you. That is what they do. Protection is what you bought insurance for. Let them protect you. You DO NOT need a lawyer. Your insurance company will provide you with any lawyer(s) that you need for free. Why does someone else have to tell you one of THE most basic things to do if involved in an accident? When you have insurance… USE IT!

Always call the police to the scene and then immediately notify your insurance company… Always!

Call both insurance companies. Get a repair estimate for comparison purposes. Get your own values on your vehicle. Use Kelley Blue Book. Go to www.kbb.com. Put in all of the info on your vehicle. Get a retail price. Add sales tax and title transfer fees. That is your claim on your vehicle.
If you need a rental, rent a vehicle and save your receipt.
By this time the liability carrier should have gotten back to you. If they agree to pay your claim… Settle. If they don't agree, use your own collision insurance.
if you were injured, see a doctor.
