Should I buy a new or used car?

I'm planning on trading my car in for a Ford F250 and i'm not sure if it would be better for me to spend $35k on a used one with 40k-70k miles that may or may not have exactly what want or a $50k for a brand new one that is customized to my liking and havs less that 1000 miles on it. What do y'all think?

Added (1). Edit: I need a truck so I can haul my family's boat to the lake and the hog trailer to show and the the sale barn.

  • Should I buy this used Ford Taurus 2000? Planning to buy a Ford Taurus 2000. It has 140,000 miles on it. The condition of the car seemed pretty good. The price was fixed on $1200. But when I checked with a mechanic 1, he said that the ball joint and the sway bar of the car might need to be replaced soon. And also says that the front right wheel makes a little noise.
