Is a 1997 Ford F-250 460/7.5L a good first truck?
I'm looking at this truck it's got 115000 miles on it 4x4 automatic it need an exhaust system and the front end is loose all can be fixed for a few hundred dollars how much is it worth and how would the mpg be for it thanks
I've always liked trucks
Can't help with value, but if you have to ask about fuel economy, it's not the truck for you. Expect about 10 mpg average?
If you have to tow a heavy trailer, it's a good truck. But something that heavy, with all the aerodynamics of a brick is never going to get good economy.
I get 5-7mpg in town and about 11mpg highway with my 2x4 F250 with the same engine.
I only use it to haul a camper or a car dolly, no way I would spend over 500 bucks a month to drive it daily.
- 1997 ford tbird and 1997 ford mustang parts? Can I use parts from a 97 4.6 mustang on my 97 4.6 third and can I use any suspension parts from a mustang
- Old Ford Truck Good First Car? I'm 14 and in the market for a barn find condition car to fix up and drive in high school. I'd like an old truck but they suck gas down and are heavy. I found a 1978 Ford F150 with an 8ft bed, 4 wheel drive, 400m motor automatic, no AC. Has stuck value no ac, tires have 1/2 tread, comes with a 351m motor too. Runs but smokes. 33 inch tires with 1/2 tread, new gas tank. Clean title. What do you think? It's only 600 bucks. How much is the average mpg?
- Putting a 460 ford big block In a different truck? I got a 84 f250 with a 460/ 4 speed. The body is completely **** and the tires and brakes are bad. The engine and the tranny work fine tho. What would I all need to put this engine in a different style body of truck like a 6th generation ford? And about how much do you think it would cost?
- Is this a good deal? Is a 92 Ford F-250 regular cab long bed that has a transmission problem? ( it jults when when it shifts going slow but in the freeway it perfect) And needs a new battery a good deal? I'm getting it from a friend for $600
