Why does my door speaker go in and out?
I have a 2010 Chevy Silverado with stock audio equipment. It is a base model so nothing fancy. My door speaker goes in and out, mostly out. My questions are the following.
1. Is it most likely the speaker or the wiring causing this?
I want to get two new door speakers which brings me to the next two questions.
2. I'm highly annoyed when audio has no bass such as a boombox radio or earbud headphones. I don't have the room for a subwoofer so… Can/do regular speakers produce bass? Or is bass ONLY produced from subwoofers. I don't want alot of bass, I just want it to be there/existant kind of like how the new FORD vehicle sound (they have really great audio).
3. In order for quality audio do you need good speakers AND wiring or just good speakers? I know when it comes to video if you have and HDTV and HD channel it won't look good with regular chords and you need an HD cable to get true HD quality. If i get new door speakers will the stock wiring sufice or should I go ahead and get some "good" audio cable?
It seems like a wiring problem or maybe something is getting overheated.
Speakers do produce bass, if you're really up to it go to a professional installer and get some good 3 way component speakers. 1 tweeter, 1 mid range and 1 for bass on either side. But they do require technique and expertise to install. Otherwise, 2 way components will also do.
And yes, everything matters.
All the way from your head unit to the wiring, amp and speakers.
Look for oxygen free copper wires
And remember area of cross section is inversely proportional to electrical resistance.
Just make sure you get some good quality appliances and along with a good install. You'll be more than happy

- 95 Ford Taurus Speaker Specs? I have spent a lot of time searching and have no results. I know the rear speakers in my Taurus (GL) are 3.2 ohms, but I need too know what the front (door) speakers are rated at ohm-wise.
- Where is the phone speaker for a bluetooth on a 2010 Ford Mustang convertible? I have a 2010 mustang and I can't find the phone speaker inside my 2010 ford mustang. I have seen where it is in other convertibles but can't find it in mine. And ppl are having trouble hearing me.
- Had my ford transit broken into, door peeled in half, what would people recommend, van alarm or deadlocks and door strengthening? My van door was peeled in Half from top to bottom and cleared of everything inside. I'm thinking of getting an alarm that will go off if van is shaken or movement inside but I think this might be too late and the door damage done. Would I be better off getting visual locks for thief's to see then have my door reinforced inside out by my friend who's a welder.
- Why does my car door unlock after I lock it? When I rent cars (most recently, a Toyota Prius and a Ford Fusion), I'm frustrated because I'll lock the doors, both from the inside and from the key fob, but when I check to make sure that they're locked, they will unlock when I touch the handle. What causes this? Do they unlock if the key fob is within a certain range? When I lock the doors, I want them to stay locked!
