Why are European cars so bad and break easily?

German, British, and Italian cars tend to have the worst reliability and fuel economy. This is especially proven by the consumer reports of the past decade.

American cars have good reliability and fuel economy so why do people buy European cars over American? American cars should cost 5 times as much as the European cars because American cars are 5 times better than the European cars. Instead, European cars are the most expensive for no reason.

European cars are unreliable and waste too much gas without going too many miles. So for 200 million dollars or more, what do European cars have to offer? Just badges that say Mercedes Benz, Lamborghini, or Bentley?

If people didn't fall for the lie of German engineering, more people would have been buying American cars and the American GDP and economy would have been much larger than they are now. America's GDP would be much larger than that of the European Union.

More people should start buying Ford, Chevy, Buick, and Lincoln.

Added (1). I'm writing a research paper on economics for my college. Thank you for answering.

Added (2). I was obviously being sarcastic and I exaggerated the price of European cars, but you guys get the point. Most European cars cost at least 60 thousand dollars and for no good reason.

Your assertion at the start of the question about the quality of European cars is just plain incorrect so the rest of the question is bogus and unanswerable

The reason why they break so easily is to make you pay the company more money to fix the car.
and you keep on spending money on them because you think European cars are cool and must have.

I would rather ride a donkey instead.

Have you heard about http://en.wikipedia.org/...solescence

All modern cars specially designed to have limited life time and require offten maintenance.

What a waste of resources

Question or statement against European cars?
Assertion is wrong on so many counts. Not worth full answer. Check out professional reviews eg JD a Powers etc for better unbiased data.

Is it a questions related to American cars or American economy?

American cars better than their European counterparts in only one thing, they make more noise. European cars are quite, stylish and more advanced. They provide bigger engines in small size. Pick up a Jaguar or Aston Martin, and you can only wonder how a car with 300 horse power under its hood doesn't make noise.

Pick a Ferrari or Lamborghini to wonder what's more sexy: European cars or Hollywood actress?

BMW/Merc/Audi: I doubt any American car can really compete them?

Fuel Economy, Seriously? If that's your concern, go for a Asian cars. A Hyundai, Suzuki, Honda and Toyota is better than any European or American car when it comes to Fuel economy and low maintenance.
