What muffler should I put on my GMC Yukon?
I have a 2003 GMC yukon with the 4.8L. I want something deep and throaty and noticeable, but not too extreme because it is a daily driver and I would like to keep it somewhat classy, plus I like to hear the radio and people talking. I've had only Flowmasters on past vehicles, I've had the 40, 44 and 10s in the past but always on Ford engines. Any suggestions? Don't have to be flowmasters by the way
Flowmasters and MagnaFlow are both good options, but it ultimately comes down to your preference. What I like will probably be different then what you like… Even though I like the deeper noise w/o it being obnoxious; similar to you.
If you have some time, check out GMC4x4.com There are a bunch of guys running aftermarket exhausts on their GMT800's (this is your year grouping) and a few have posted videos so you can hear it. This site is dedicated to GMC / Chevy trucks so your '03 Yukon will fit right in.
This is the section to post that up

Best of luck with your choice!
MagnaFlow is what I recommend. Call or email them and tell them what your present exhaust set-up is and what you are after, then they can recommend the muffler you want.
- What kind of muffler should I get? So I recently got a 95 ford mustang and I'm looking into putting a new muffler on it. Actually I'm. I want it to sound more beastly and mean. I'm either putting a flow master 40 series or 44 super series. Also it's a 3.8L v6. Out of those two what one should I get? I don't want to add new pipes. Later on I might add a cat back but I don't know.
- Best muffler for a V6 mustang? I just bought my 2013 V6 mustang last week and the sound isn't suiting me all that well, it's not bad, just not good enough. I want to buy a new muffler to either have a nice sports car/race car sound or something nice and deep but not too throaty and gurgly. What are y'all's opinion on the best sounding mufflers and brands on this car?
- Will cutting off the muffler cut gas milage? I have an '83 Ford F150, i want to make it ear shatteringly loud, but not wanna mess with the mileage I have. It didn't come with a catalytic converter, and i was planning on cutting off right before the muffler and leaving it. Where i would cut it is about halfway down the truck where cab and box meet. Anyone foresee any problems?
- Where to get a flowmaster muffler with pipe and tip? I have a 2003 Ford f150 super crew 5.4l xlt v8 triton and I was wondering where I could get a flowmaster muffler with the pipe and tip. I'm hoping to get this without the whole exhaust system. I'd also be interested in Magnaflow too.
