What is the recommended oil for a ford 200 inline 6?

I heard it needs a zinc additive but I'm not sure. It has 135,000 miles.

Added (1). Another question. What would be the redline? It's a stock engine

Hearsay is useless. Any fully synthetic 5w-40 or 5w-30 will be fine. Buy it cheaper from a supermarket as it's all to full specification.

Your engine uses flat tappets, and that necessitates the use of a high zinc content oil, or the cam lobes may/will prematurely wear down.
If you're using conventional oil, use either racing oil or the 4 ounce additive of ZDDP (, Zinc Dialkyl Dithiophosphate) for proper lubrication. Do research on the brand you choose to assure you know what you're getting.
Newer engines use roller tappets or roller rockers and can use motor oils with less zinc.
Higher zinc levels has a down side too, as it can cause carbon build-up and earlier catalytic converter failure.

Just buy Valvoline High Mileage oil. It works great.
