What is a hydraulic pressure unit?
Recently my husband and I got a code reader for our broken down 2007 Ford Freestyle SEL. The code it came up with was P0942, which is for a hydraulic pressure unit. I (nor my husband) have heard of this. I have looked it up with no luck. Does anyone know what they do and how much it would cost to fix?
Try this:
It seems to be part of a continuously variable transmission (CVT), a kind of automatic gearbox.

It looks like a Ford job to fix it, or maybe an auto transmission specialist, or maybe a second hand one with "second hand one risks".
Search for "hydraulic pressure unit ford freestyle" to get plenty of other hits that might help.
Only thing I can think of is the brake master cylinder…
