New car battery for subwoofers?

I have a 2001 ford Taurus se. I need to upgrade my battery and am looking to get a red top optimum. They don't have the exact fit so does anyone have any suggestions or experience in this field? What battery type to get, and what special slot to make it fit. I have 2 12" 5k watts btw

Before you go making significant electrical system changes -- you may want to provide the brand and model of your subs and amp.
There are a LOT of less than honest car audio brands that will advertise ridiculously high max/peak power ratings when the actual rms power output/handling is much lower.

  • Two 12inch subwoofers in my extended cab 2004 ford ranger? I have a 2004 ford ranger extended can and what i wanna know is, will two 12" subwoofers be heard from like a block away? Each subwoofer will be around 1,000 to 1,200 watts each and a 3,000 watt amp. I used to have two 10" subs but they were only 400watts each as well as the amp. Is two 12" subwoofers going to be heard a block away?

  • I bought a new ford focus sel hatchback with 29 miles, after 3 weeks the battery died and they replaced it with a new one. It died again? Can they trade my car for another one. I'm not gonna keep paying for a car that don't work. It has 300miles now
  • New alternator and battery but battery still won't charge in my ford explorer 93? My battery wouldnt charge So i just replaced my alternator a few days ago knowing it would fix the problem. It appears that the alternator was not the problem. I've got a brand new alternor and when i check the battery(running car), it just stays on 12.5V and doesn't go up. I tried using it yesterday and it just drained out on me. I tried 3 good batteries already and checked if they charge in my car but they don't. Oh, the alternator came with a volt regulator.
