97 ford taurus still won't work?
2nd alternator and it's in working condition (voltage regulator and all), brand new fully charged battery, battery bolts clean, all fuses and mega fuse clean and working, ground cables good, still dies and drains battery completely within hour even minutes when lights on… Multimeter clocks battery at 12.6 when off and down to 12 when on, why is this happening?! The alternator is even definitely hitting the battery because autozone was able to test it through the battery i don't know what to do anymore
If we have such a power drain down we have a major parasitic drain from battery to earth. Assuming diodes in alternator battery are in fact ok. And I think it's likely they are from your information.
You need to isolate the circuit draining down battery. This is a high flow rate. Have auto electrician trace. We can see battery discharging by using a multimeter in circuit. Test circuits by pulling fuses on each until drain stops.
The battery ought to show higher than 12v at all times. Charging expect up to 13.5v.
Once we have found our power drain we can locate the faulty component. With such a high power drain will be either large energy user component or a direct short to earth. Eg trapped/ non insulted wire etc.
Your problem is autozone. Check all interior, under-hood lite, trunk lite, only have reputable auto tech evaluate and work on vehicle.
- 2000 Ford ranger won't start, but still has power? It has a brand new battery, battery cables, ignition switch, starter, and starter relay. Yet when I get in it has power enough that everything comes on, but if I turn the key once, the entire truck goes dead. I can reset the battery, and the process will begin again. I don't have anymore ideas.

So I no longer work at Kroger as of yesterday but I was wondering if I could still use the ford partner x-plan to purchase a car from Ford. If I can then do long do I have until it's no longer available for me to use. I do have a w-2 and also a current check that I will pick up next week. - New alternator and battery but battery still won't charge in my ford explorer 93? My battery wouldnt charge So i just replaced my alternator a few days ago knowing it would fix the problem. It appears that the alternator was not the problem. I've got a brand new alternor and when i check the battery(running car), it just stays on 12.5V and doesn't go up. I tried using it yesterday and it just drained out on me. I tried 3 good batteries already and checked if they charge in my car but they don't. Oh, the alternator came with a volt regulator.
- Hunting: I got another rental SUV. Mine is still not repaired. Waiting on insurance still? I'm going to trade it in once it gets fixed. It's not as nice since it's a 2010 Expedition. My rental 2019 Cadillac Escalade is $98,000! We may get a AUDI, or another Ford Expedition once we trade the old one in. Need a new one anyways, so they say we will get up to $10,000 after it's all fixed.
