2003 Ford Taurus, What do You think?

I'm looking for a 2003 Ford Tuarus, it has 101,000k miles and looks mint. But, I've heard things about this car, broken coil springs, transmission issues, etc.
Should I get it or avoid it?
Tell me truth about this car.

I would have to agree with the person who said see if you can find a Toyota or Honda if you can swing it. The V6 Taurus was a major improvement over the 4, but I still think you are taking a chance unless you can fine a very good price on it. Fords tended to get a little better every year starting in the late 1990's, but for everyone who said they got 200,000 miles an equal number of people will sau they had one that died it with 100,000 miles.

Take it to your mechanic to make sure there's nothing major you'd need to fix upon buying it. Maybe even two mechanics to be safe (always good when dealing with a used car).

If it all checks out, and you're getting a good deal price wise, I'd say go for it. I had my 2004 Taurus until a couple weeks ago when it got totaled, and I never had a single issue with it (never had to take it in for anything other than routine stuff like oil changes). I've known people who have had their Tauruses for over 200k miles. It's a great car.

Also I don't know where MooCowMan lives that he doesn't see many Tauruses on the road, they're everywhere where I live.
