About how much will i get back from car accident?
Hi, I'm 21 and recently got into a car accident in the state of GA. I was driving a ram 1500 pickup, went through a green light and a guy made a left turn right in front of me causing me to run into his ford ranger. He was at fault and got cited. The truck is under my moms and step dads name, but I only drove it. This is my 1st accident ever. My moms been in two, sister 1, step dad 2 and now me 1. None of them were at fault and we had the same attorney through all of them. The truck was totaled and probably worth around 2k. Right after impact I wasn't nervous, scared or hurting at all. My parents made me go to a ortho and spine clinic anyway next day and they took x-rays and said I have torn ligaments in my neck. My attorney talked to some doctors and said its just whiplash ect. I still don't have ANY pain after a week but I'm getting physical therapy anyway for a few weeks. The insurance company's know I have torn ligaments and I'm getting treated. The guy that hit me has state farm and I'm pretty sure full coverage if that matters. I also have full coverage with GEICO. I haven't missed any work, but this is an inconvenience since my mom has to take time out her schedule to pick me up and take me to work. I'm only allowed to have a rental for a week covered by him. I'm a noob at this, so how much do you think my settlement will be estimated?
You've got some seriously big holes in your story.
If you're not in any pain, there's absolutely no way you have torn ligaments in your neck. Your parents, your lawyer and this spine clinic are all encouraging you to play "insurance lottery" with this accident.
Insurance lottery is a legal game, because if it's legal on paper it's legal period. But I'll tell you something for free that your idiot lawyer should have told you several times already for $300 an hour: Shut the hell up about it.
Don't ask anyone but your lawyer for legal advice (that's in the lawyer's agreement you signed), don't ask your friends or co-workers anything, and don't discuss the details of your case with anyone else. Not even online using an anonymous name. We're talking complete silence here, no exceptions. Seriously, your lawyer should have told you that.
Court cases are completely confidential. If State Farm (or whoever you're claiming against) finds out you're blabbing about your case to other people, even if you're doing it online under an anomymous name, they'll withdraw the option of out-of-court settlement that very minute and say "see us in court" and that's the last you'll hear from them before the trial. Then your dirtbag lawyer will say he needs an additional $15,000 in retainer fees (that won't be the final bill for his service, that's just the down payment), and you'll receive whatever the judge says you'll receive for your injuries. Good luck even covering the legal fees if that happens, and it will happen if you keep opening your mouth.
Do this: Get a piece of paper, write STFU on it in magic marker, write it backwards so you can read it in the mirror, and tape it to your forehead.
My attorney talked to some doctors…
Direct any questions to your attorney.

You may get something, you may get nothing. BUT! Since you ran out and hired a lawyer, why aren't you asking him how much you might get in your gr**dy hands?
- If you have a car accident with a borrowed car, whose insurance are you covered by? Okay, my dad just totaled my grandma's 1999 Ford Taurus wagon. He was trying to turn and we hit a Nissan Frontier. The Nissan was fine, but the Ford is totaled, and my dad has never been in accident like this ever before. Does this go under my dad's insurance or my grandma's? She did give him the permission to drive it.
