4wd cv axles delima?

My truck is a 2000 ford ranger 4wd. I have rebuilt it from the ground up. Everything is new in the front-end. I have put a 3 inch body lift and a 1 and a half inch suspension lift on it. I did everything the proper way. It drives nice, but I have noticed that the cv axles are at a sharp angle due to the lift… My solution would be to drop the front differential down an inch and a half to put them back at factory angles and keep my ride height. However, I'm unable to find any aftermarket components to do it on a ranger. I can probably make some brackets, but thought I would ask here first to see if anyone on here has had this issue and what they did to fix it.

Did you cheap out on a lift? Good kits keep stock angles from the start. By the sound of it you but a 4in kit on a small body lift instead of the way you stated.

This is the trouble with lifts
Off road it is likely either to come apart ir go bang big time.

  • Problem when 4wd hubs are engaged? I have a 4x4 1988 2.3 five speed Ford Ranger. When I engage the manual locking hubs (but even when truck is still in 2wd) There's a distinct rattle felt when going at higher speeds like over 45 MPH. But it is not present when hubs are not locked, or when going slower. Bad U-joints? Any Ideas?
  • Ford ranger hopping/studdering when turning in 4wd? So the roads are really icy and slick and have snow on them. I always turn my 4wd on cause I have no chance of any traction in 2wd. I know never to use 4wd on pavement, but these are ice covered roads. Still, whenever I make a tight turn, there's a weird like groan noise, and te vehicle hops and studders forward. Why is this happened on even icy and snowy roads? I can't just put it in 2wd cause my tires will just spin.
  • Good 4wd vehicle for at or under $8500? This will be my daily driver but I don't need no lixury 4x4. What Id like is either a truck or mid size suv. (No tahoe or suburban haha). I'm not a ford fan. Would like somethin that is relible and under 130k miles. A truck would be preferred but here are my priorities if I may. 1) reliable, good drivetrain, gonna last me past 200k 2)under 130k 3) 4 liters or better 4) common model (easy to find parts) 5) 2000 and newer
  • Ford 7.5 differential problem installing axles? I switched out the 3.45 open for a 3.73 trac lok and now I can't get the differential center pin out… And yes the locking bolt is out. The pin drops down about 3-4" but then hits the ring gear and won't drop out. Is there something I'm missing?
