2000 ford ranger won.t go in 4 wheel drive?

In my experience, rangers are poorly made trucks compared to the full size f150s. If your 4wd won't work, don't touch it. The 4wd in my 03 Chevy Trailblazer broke, but it was automatic. I hit some snow, it went into 4wd automatic and did thousands of dollars of damage. Keep it in 2wd and bring it to a mechanic on a SALARY not comision to get it checked.

  • My 2000 Ford Taurus won't shift into fourth gear is it ok on a 700 mile round trip drive? I have a 2000 ford Taurus and it doesn't shift into fourth gear anymore. Its been that way for 2 years. It runs fine just doesn't shift into fourth gear and the transmission light does come on after a while of driving it. I was wondering if it would be ok to take it on a 700 mile round trip drive? I know its not good for it I just need to know if I'm going to be stranded on the highway somewhere because my trans went out.
  • My ford ranger steering wheel won't turn? I know it has something to do with power steering but I put some in yesterday, it's still not working. Anybody have any ideas what's wrong and the possible cost.
  • I have a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0L 2 Wheel Drive which I suspect the Proportional Valve maybe malfunctioning? When applying my brakes while slowing down from freeway speeds, I feel a pulsating sensation which seem to come from the rear drum brakes. Once my speed go below 40 MPH, the pulsation disappears. I don't have this problem when stopping from below 40 MPH. The rear brakes don't lock up when I apply brakes at any speed. But it could be that the pulsation while breaking down from high speed is normal.
  • 2000 Ford ranger won't start, but still has power? It has a brand new battery, battery cables, ignition switch, starter, and starter relay. Yet when I get in it has power enough that everything comes on, but if I turn the key once, the entire truck goes dead. I can reset the battery, and the process will begin again. I don't have anymore ideas.
