1999 Ford Ranger Speedometer not working?
I own a 1999 ford ranger, my speedometer no longer works and neither does the odometer. I have replaced the Speed sensor on the rear dif, without resolution.
The truck is Rwd and completely stock
This is my first vehicle, so i would greatly appreciate a fix as soon as possible
Added (1). The transmission is manual
How about changing the speed sensor on the transmission.
Could be a stuck stepper motor inside of the instrument cluster.
There's a chance the speedometer cable can come loose in the transmission extension on 2WD and the transfer case on 4WD versions which can cause the speedometer to stop working along with the odometer. Other gauges can continue working which they aren't affected by the loose cable.
- Why isn't my 1999 Ford Windstar heat not working? Last winter was pretty cold and I have been working to try fixing my heating problem. I took it to a shop and he said I'd have to take it to the dealer. My budget isn't that high so I replaced the blend door acuator myself and that didn't fix my problem. Not sure what to even try. My A/C works fine and air will blow out but absolutely no heat. Need Help!

- What would cause my speedometer not to work on my 2001 ford windstar? Sometimes the speedometer works fine and sometimes it goes up to 20/25mph. Then stops there. All other gauges work fine. I took it to the shop and they replaced a sensor and the whole new speedometer console thing and it still went up to 20/25 mph. And stopped so they put my original parts back on so I didn't have pay for them. They told me to take it to ford dealership. Any ideas will b appreciated Thanks
- Which car is the overall to keep for a couple of yrs? 1999 Nissan maxima, 1999 Altima, 2006 ford Taurus or 2002 buick lesabre? All of them have low mileage as the Taurus have 69000 and the maxima have the highest of 123000. They all under 1100 bucks.
