It depends on what you want out of it. The Ram 1500 is a very tough work truck that can handle a lot of heavy work, almost anything you can throw at it. The Ford Raptor is an off-road titan build for speed but can still do everyday truck stuff.
I absolutely LOVE my new Ram 1500 with the eco-diesel turbocharged V-6 engine. It gets an honest 28 miles per gallon on the highway, and can still tow up to 8000 pounds.

I have never heard anything good about Dodge/jeep/chrysler. I like the way the rams look a lot, but i can't help but notice how outnumbered they are by fords on the road. The ram diesels always seem to smoke like crazy. And their gas motors have never had a good reputation. I would go with the ford. The raptor is a bit over the top, an f150 with the 4x4 would be more practical/less douchey, but whatever floats your boat.
