Politically speaking, I have no clue what to make of the Kavanaugh vs Ford testimony. What about you guys?
From Ford's angle, legend has it she was holding off until a Republican like Romney or Trump won the Presidency and spoke out if Kavanaugh ever was selected.
Sure, sexual harassment isn't ever OK, but why wasn't any of this taken into account long before Kavanaugh worked his way up the ranks of our Judicial system?
For being a Ph. D, Ford isn't very smart,
But as for Kavanaugh, he is plenty qualified and I get the whole boys will be boys mentality. He was a cocky student and that's what most success stories were like back then.
35 years pass and here we're. Grassley and Hatch didn't care about the Hill testimony against Justice Thomas. Which is why I'm tempted to say that Kavanaugh may also be appointed and confirmed with no issues from those guys,
but then again in the MeToo era it would be a huge burn for someone who MIGHT have a background of sexual misconduct (not proven just implied) as an arbiter of the law for the rest of his life.
That's the issue. You don't say it's about law and order when Trump candidates bend the rules and push their luck with the public.
I'm not taking sides on this. Lost.
Long story short, I'd like to see where y'all are at in these events.
Kavanaugh is an angry drunk that can't stick to the truth.
Ford is honest and past a polygraph test.
Ford is lying at the direction of the DNC and their globalist benefactors for the purpose of interfering with the confirmation af a Conservative Supreme Court Justice.
Brat lied under oath and he is not an impartial interpreter of the law. That is the most important take away from the hearing.
When he says "I demand a lie detector test and a full investigation by the FBI regardless of how long it takes", I'll give him some credit. So far, nothing.
"guilty until proven innocent" is one of the most degenerate political concepts I've ever heard. That's how things work in N Korea, what a backwards approach to justice, what a horror liberals have brought us.
"any woman claiming a crime was committed must be believed" is awful for the women's movement. The women's movement is about equality. This is the worst approach to equality I can think of. It literally reduces women to less than men by definition. They are too "soft" to be criticized? Huh?
When people of Kavanaughs caliber both left and right don't want to consider a life in public service because of the way the Politicians will ruin their lives means we've degenerated to a horrific state of affairs.
That we no longer evaluate people based on their character, their life accomplishments, the broad scope and number of people that stand by them and support them, but instead JUDGE THEM POLITICALLY, then we have entered an Orwellian hell.
This is what I really think about this mess the Liberals made for us.
I'm happy to know that someone's view who's not following closely to these proceedings is right down the middle.
None of us were there so none of us know for sure. Kav's character is suspect… Find someone else. It's a lifetime appointment. Gorsuch went through because no suspicion arose.
Incidentally, Kav is no stranger to controversy. Yrs. Ago he was considered too biased for the job.
"The American Bar Association had concerns about Kavanaugh 12 years ago. Republicans dismissed those, too."
The lop-sided bias is why the reps want him so badly. The reps want a country in their image only and are willing to sacrifice character to get it.
- What do you make of this July 1st, 1982 calendar entry by Kavanaugh? Should the FBI have a look at Timmy's house? "Go to Timmy's for skis [brewskies] w/ Judge, Tom, PJ, Bernie, Squi" https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/9/28/17914174/brett-kavanaugh-calendar-christine-blasey-ford
- If you have enough money, can you have a new classic car built? Like can I pay to have ford build me a 1970 Mustang? Lets say I don't want to buy an old car and restore it, I want a 1970 but straight off the factory line. Can you have a car built with the old style frame, engine, trans, etc?
- If this whole thing isn't politically motivated like Ford says? Then why, instead of taking it to the cops, she sits on it for 35 years and then tells some politicians about it in an attempt to stop a SC conformation?
- Politically Speaking, if you had to pick between a Hyundai Elantra and Ford Focus based on looks alone? Which would you prefer?
