Pull the positive ( red wire ) battery cable clamp off of the battery post & clean the inside of the clamp and the sides of the post with a small piece of sand paper. If that helps, most all car parts stores carry a small wire brush designed for just that task. Also, around when your car was made, Ford tried-out a new light-weight sheet-metal battery cable clamp instead of the "lump-of-lead" ones - They didn't work. If you have those light-weight clamps, you'll have to get them replaced with the old fashioned lump of lead clamps.
- Hi we have a ford focus cmax 2.8 diesel and battery light staying on after fitting new alternator how do I turn it off? When car is running battery light comes on, when take battery leads off cars still running how do I turn light off thanks for reading
- New alternator and battery but battery still won't charge in my ford explorer 93? My battery wouldnt charge So i just replaced my alternator a few days ago knowing it would fix the problem. It appears that the alternator was not the problem. I've got a brand new alternor and when i check the battery(running car), it just stays on 12.5V and doesn't go up. I tried using it yesterday and it just drained out on me. I tried 3 good batteries already and checked if they charge in my car but they don't. Oh, the alternator came with a volt regulator.
- Alternator and battery tested good, but Ford Escape won't crank? I have a 2004 Ford Escape that has had the battery warning light on the dash for about a month. I took it to auto zone and the battery and alternator tested good. Today I'm out and it won't turn over and has no power. The battery terminals are clean and the connections look good. Any idea what might be going on here?
- I'm struggling to get the gear knob off of my Ford KA Edge (2014) any suggestions? I have tried twisting the gear knob and also pulling it lightly to see if it would come off but it hasn't budged at all, I'm very new to the interior car modification thing as I just learned what a "gaitor" is lol. The gear knob is in no way attached to the gaitor or the reversing mechanism which is a bit of plastic you have to pull upwards towards the gear knob. Any suggestions will be very appreciated, thank you.
