Is it just me or do mustangs and ford V8s in general sound deeper and different?

For example if I hear a v8 mustang down the road I can immediately identify it for what it is. Or if a ford truck was revving the engine and a Chevy or dodge was to I can pick out easily which one the ford is by its deep base sound. Anyone else notice this?

Yes, Ford and Chevy engines DO sound different. So do Chrysler Hemi engines.

Yes I can tell the difference between a Ford V8 and a Chevy V8

It is al to do with the firing order of the v8 engines ' GM have a different firing order to Ford hence a different frequency in the exhausts

Tuned exhaust is definitely a selling feature. Your imagination is working just fine.
