How does the Ford Basecare Extended Warrenty work? How does the deductible work?
I recently purchased a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan and got the ford base at extended warranty with it. Unfortunately the van is a sold as is deal. The ac is not working now and there's a possible leak in the brake line.
The deductible is $100.
My question is it $100 for each thing that needs to be fix or is it just $100 for everything? Like if I need the ac fixed and needs to have the brake lines fixed, is it just $100 for the total cost or $100 for the ac then $100 for the brakes?
They never really explained it in depth to me and the brochure is no help and I can't find anything online.
This picture is the only thing that I have been able to find and I don't even think it's a Ford website.
Doesn't it say right there that the deductible is per visit but not per item?
Usually it's $100 per covered item. Extended warranties are not necessarily a good deal.
Usually sold "as is" does not come with a warranty. If you send it to a garage for repair you pay the first 100 and warranty takes care of the rest if you have both the a/c and brake work done. First thing I would do is to 1) make sure you do have a warranty in place. 2) read the paperwork some warranties will not cover the fluids as in any brake fluid they have to replace, same goes for the Freon they need to add for the a/c. I do transmission work most warranties do not cover the fluid and in some cases the electronics if we need to replace any so that's 100+ whatever the cost of fluid and electronics we replace. Also if brakes need to be replaced those are normal wear and tear and not covered under a warranty. But like I said in the beginning sold as is usually are not sold with a warranty. Check with the warranty company to make sure its in effect
- What does ford premium care 100 deductible mean? My car has an oil leak, and I bought it last July. I purchase the premium care package but next to it, it says standard deductible is $100, what does that mean? My husband is deployed and I'm not too care savvy. Please no rude comments. I just need help.
- Two 12inch subwoofers in my extended cab 2004 ford ranger? I have a 2004 ford ranger extended can and what i wanna know is, will two 12" subwoofers be heard from like a block away? Each subwoofer will be around 1,000 to 1,200 watts each and a 3,000 watt amp. I used to have two 10" subs but they were only 400watts each as well as the amp. Is two 12" subwoofers going to be heard a block away?
- How hard to drive is a 2002 Ford Ranger extended Cab? So I'm 16 years old and thinking about getting a 2002 or 2003 Ford Ranger Extended Cab pickup. How hard is it to drive? Will it be okay for a new driver like me? I'm a pretty good driver, but I have only driven a 2003 acura TL and a 2014 Nissan Rogue, both pretty good cars when it comes to how well it can maneuver. How hard would it be to do basic things such as park, make a right turn, come to a quick stop, etc?
- Extended warranty voided on drivetrain 2015 mustang? Warranty voided due to "abuse" for racing on track. Wondering if I could trade in the mustang to a different dealership such as "Toyota" as an example and get a different vehicle… I was told I could only sell the car "as is" for a ridiculously low amount by Ford.
