My gear shifter won't come out of park, my a/c, windshield wipers, and windows will not work?
I have a 2001 ford focus zx3. I took it to a mechanic and he can't see me until Tuesday. He did look under the hood and said it wasn't anything simple. I've heard many things like battery cables, my computer or a fuse. What's wrong with my car and how much is it going to be to fix it?
Search your fuse box and the underhood relay panel for any blown fuses or bad relays related to any of the components you listed. If you find a blown fuse/relay which corrects everything except the shifter being stuck in park, a defective stoplight switch at the brake pedal can cause the shifter stuck in park issue.A defective shift interlock solenoid can also cause it.
A good automotive electrician can fix with a test light or meter will find the problem in relatively short time. You obviously have a broken line going to the shifter safety solenoid and the rest. It could be as simple as a fuse, bad ground, broken/chewed harness (by rats or dogs… It happens).
Ford Focus… Does it have tilt steering? Sometimes the tilt gets locked up and won't let the gear shift move.

- I took my car in to have the A/C fixed and now my windshield wipers don't work. What might be the problem? 2005 Ford Freestar Is this something I can fix easily myself or should I just bring it back to the shop?
- How to change speed on my windshield wipers? I have a 2003 Ford Windstar. I turn the wipers on high, but they're really slow. I can't drive in the rain, period. That's how slow they are, on high. What could it be and what can I do?
