Is 2014 Ford Focus reliable car?

My parents totally ignored my suggestions and decided to buy 2014 Ford Focus (7,000 miles). It is manual. Yes, my 67 year old mom drives only stick-shift!
Should I try to talk them out of it, or perhaps it is not such a bad car as some people suggest. Can they expect 10 years without costly repairs? My parents are crazy punctual when it comes to maintainence. My mom drives to work 3 miles and shopping.

It is not predicted to have good long-term reliability. See: http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/Ford_Focus/Reliability/

You are lucky to be handed a car that is only a year old. Your suggestions do not matter. Anyway, a car will usually require at least two costly repairs in the first eleven years. Focuses aren't reliable.
