First car. How can I take care of it properly?
It's a 2001 ford focus
Check the oil each month.
Get a service every 3 months as it's a 2001, pretty old.
Keep an eye on rust, Fords are popular for rust.
Keep tyres pumped regularly, especially when driving on a motorway.
Read the past service history, know what has been done to the car in the past.
Go to a mechanic who has good reviews, not just someone who is cheap, they'll rob you blind.
Google what are common problems for Ford Focus' in 2001 and keep an eye on any symptoms.
Don't speed or race, don't grind the clutch as these will damage the car.
These are just basics really, keep an eye on your car.
Don't put chainsaw oil in the engine, I had to learn the hard way.
Don't let your mates drive it
Find the owner's manual and actually (GASP!) READ it. Including the parts about scheduled maintenance. I know it's difficult for a modern teenager to read anything with big words or contains more than 144 characters, but that's what you need to do if you want to learn something.
- What does ford premium care 100 deductible mean? My car has an oil leak, and I bought it last July. I purchase the premium care package but next to it, it says standard deductible is $100, what does that mean? My husband is deployed and I'm not too care savvy. Please no rude comments. I just need help.
- Trump just said he doesn't care if Ford was lying or not, the important thing is the GOP won. Can we pretty much assume any conservative? Is lying every time they speak from now on? Like we didn't know already. Taking a lie away from a conservative is like taking a porkchop away from a pitbull.
- Why didn't anyone take care of this car? I'm 17 and I'm looking at cars. I'm looking at all sorts of different cars. I was looking at the 2000-07 Ford Taurus. I noticed these cars sell for good deals with very low mileage. I've driven one and I didn't think it was a bad car at all. I noticed a lot of them I find online are quite beat up and barely have 150,000 miles on them. When I find a Mercury Sable, it looks like it was taken good care of. Why didn't people take care of this car?
- Do some people really care that much about driving a really nice car? My dad is perfectly okay with his 1992 Ford Taurus with 210,000 miles on it, no heat (he lives in Chicago btw), no A/C, and a f::::ked up passenger side door. He's not poor by any means, he's a CFO of a bank. He just says that driving that P. Builds character and he only cares about having a car that can take him from point A to point B.
