Explain to me the difference between driving a truck and a car?

I currently drive a Ford Focus and want a big truck like a Dodge Ram or Toyota Tundra, new. I've never drove a truck.

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight, rising up to the challenge of our rival.

Your field of vision is higher and wider. Your vehicle is bigger, heavier and more powerful. You will actually drive from a sitting position rather than half-reclining. I've driven nothing but pickup trucks, except at work, since 1993. I won't own anything else.

Rent a truck for a day, and see how you like it.

Turning circle is a lot bigger. Parking spaces may be too small. Gas mileage will be a lot worse. Insurance rates will be much higher. If you want to save money, drive the Focus until it drops then buy a vehicle coming off a 3 year lease and drive that until it drops.

You drive a Ford Focus and you can swallow an aspirin easily. Driving a large truck is like swallowing a whole raw chicken egg. The more you practice, the better you get at it. Trucks have bigger and more blind spots and larger turning radius. The truck seat is higher so you might have better view ahead, though not to the back. You can't carry 3 motorcycles in a Focus. Save your money, if you're only intrigued with trucks. All you're going to do is get in everybody's way, take up two parking spaces and get robbed of the catalytic converters.

In a Ford Focus or other small car knowing where your fenders are is not difficult. But a truck is not as easy. Which means you have to adjust your driving perspective (for want of a better term). If you are not careful you will "bump" into things that you thought were not that close. When passing you will have to hang out in the fast lane longer to have room to pull back into the slow lane.
