Check for a bad vehicle speed sensor. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the plug on the cluster.
Maybe loose connection at the speed sensor.
If it was the fuse, it wouldn't work EVER. Sounds like you have an intermittent short in your wiring.
Possible bad ground to cluster. Or loose IC lead. My gearshift indicator hasn't worked right in a month, the gas gauge glitches, too. It isn't the gear shift switch, it has to be a bad solder joint to an IC in the cluster itself. B**** to get out.
- Which fuse is the correct fuse for the radio in a fuse box? Read details? A 2002 wind star ford van has a radio that doesn't work. Which fuse would need to be replaced in the fuse box?
- What would cause my speedometer not to work on my 2001 ford windstar? Sometimes the speedometer works fine and sometimes it goes up to 20/25mph. Then stops there. All other gauges work fine. I took it to the shop and they replaced a sensor and the whole new speedometer console thing and it still went up to 20/25 mph. And stopped so they put my original parts back on so I didn't have pay for them. They told me to take it to ford dealership. Any ideas will b appreciated Thanks
- I think I blew a fuse in my 2002 Taurus. I can't find the fuse and want to know if it sounds like i did? So when changing a Puddle Light in my 2002 Ford Taurus I hit the wire that connected the lighting and lighting case to my mirror. Something sparked and my interior lighting, glove box lighting, and mirror lighting is not working. Is this something as simple as a fuse?
- Would a ford focus 2012 with 80k miles last a long time given that i treat it right and only take it within the city from and to work? As long as the car would last me 5 years minimum but i don't know jack about cars so if i could have an expert give me a diagnosis i would gladly appreciate it
