Is it possible to fix an electric wing mirror easily?

I have a ford fiesta 2007 with electronic wing mirrors. Managed to take the passenger side mirror off but only the plastic, literally no damage to the electronics but can't seem to find just the plastic casing parts so it seems that my only option is to replace the whole mirror. How easy is this to do? I don't want to damage my car more but I also don't want to pay if it's a job that could be done by me (though I'm a novice).

Any advice appreciated as it's due for MOT soon!

Not sure

Replacing the mirror is the easy part. It's taking the inside of the door apart to get to the mounting bolts that's a royal pain… Look for a replacement mirror in a local auto salvage yard.

Cheaper to buy the whole mirror. Check out rockauto.com. Buy a short subscription to alldatadiy.com and print out the directions for removing the door trim panel. Not hard, but you do have to know where the fasteners are and the order they come out.

Once the panel is off, it's a few screws and an electrical plug. Then pop the panel back on and you're done.

I seriously doubt that you have the skills needed to fix this mirror. There are aftermarket mirrors available for your care that will be cheaper than going to a Ford dealer for the part. Installing the mirror isn't usually too difficult and the plugs for the electrical connections are all idiotproof so you could give it a try.
