City and Highway Mileage?
I've graduated high school two weeks and as well as got my first car, 2015 Ford Fiesta. I was looking up mileage about my car and stumbled across city and highway mileage.
My car is up to 31 city, 43 highway. What does that mean? As well as the difference between the two.
Stop and go driving (city) will use more gas and get less miles per gallon
While both numbers are a guestimate and may not be accurate in YOUR driving conditions, they let you compare the fuel economy of different vehicles.
There are 2 different tests they do.
City is driving at ~30 mph, with lots of stops and starts. This uses more fuel (less mpg)
Highway is driving steady at ~60 mph, and usually gets better fuel economy than stop start driving.
It doesn't mean YOU will get those exact numbers, but it lets you compare vehicles. If you compare your Fiesta to a big SUV that gets 15 / 20 mpg in the standard tests, it's safe to assume you will only use 1/2 the fuel, and you are still ahead of my Toyota that gets 25/30
City means you'll get around that mileage driving around the city and highway, you'll get that mileage driving on the highway.
City is stop and go so you will get less mileage since your accelerating more often.
- What's the city mpg of the Excursion? I'm wondering what the acutual city mpg of the 2003 Ford Excursion is. Don't give me any of the EPA stuff because, it's not on there. I want a gas compared to a diesel. I want to buy one as my first car.
- What is the actual city MPG of this truck? I'm curious what the city MPG is on the 2000 Ford Excursion Limited diesel 4WD. What's the actual MPG of this vehicle? City only.
- Car shakes still? My 94 Ford Taurus shakes on the highway. 65-80 mph and after 80 it stops? I've gotten new tie rods, a realignment, new breaks, and resurfaced rotors, and it still happens to shake even though the mechanic said that the problem was the rotors being warped. Before I spend more money on the damned thing I was wondering if anyone here had some insight to why it's still shaking on the highway. One thing I've noticed is that when I accelerate a chirping sound ensues and chirps faster as I go faster? Any ideas? Please?
- Would 2015 Ford Mustang GT be good as a daily driver in the city? Just wondering. Also want to know if the 2015 Corvette Stingray would be good as a daily driver in the city (probably not) but I want to know some reasons why the corvette is good/bad as a daily driver and the mustang.
