I need advise on painting my truck?

I have a 1990 ford f150 that is flat baby blue. I wish to make it flat black. Would it be better if I plasti dipped it flat black or if I just used regular flat black auto spray? Which is cheaper? Which lasts longer? Keeping in mind I live in Las Vegas the weather can reach well over 100 degrees. Extreme heat and cold I'm the desert will be a problem?

Dip it in Ovaltine

Black is not your friend when it comes to heat and sunshine - if you change the color to black every time you open a door, or the hood- the thing will look like a bruise (black and blue) . Keep the paint color the same, or very close to the same color as original and it will look much better overall.

  • Painting my chrome bumper black? I have a 2005 ford ranger XLT the bumper in the front is chrome and there's a chrome piece in the back as well. I used "rust-oleum bumper paint" to paint the trim of the truck and it is really really good and a nice deep black. I want the same thing on the chrome. Can you walk me through the steps of what id need to get to do it? I want it a similar color to my truck ( glossy black ) i'm blacking the truck out.
