I have a 1995 ford f150 5.8 engine that feels like is misfiring?

As I have the truck on park or as I'm on a stop light the truck starts shaking. But it gets worse when I get up to speed the the truck runs fine till I need some more power then it starts shaking again. At times it feels like the transmission is going bad but I took it in and they told me that it was not that, but that it could be a bad ignition coil. What do you guys think? I cleaned the egr valve and it did not fix anything.

Did you set it to wumbo?

I don't quite understand what you are asking.

Geta spray bottle with water in it. Start the cold engine, and let it run for 30 seconds to a minute. Spray the water on the exhaust manifolds. Most exhaust ports will be sizzling hot, but 1 or 2 may not evaporate the water immediately. You need to check the plugs and wires for those cylinders. On a 5.8, if you had a bad coil, it's doubtful the engie would run roughly. It usually won't run at all, especiallty after being warmed up. Given that the truck is 19 years old, i would take an unlit propane torch and pass it around all the vacuum lines. If you find a vacuum leak, the propane will be drawn in and the idle wil smooth out.
