Because the idle is to low and that is because the throttle body and air by pass valve are dirty.
Jacob, go to a parts store and have the codes pulled. Very likely your check engine light is on or thereis a stored code that doesn't trigger a check engine light. Start from there and go with whatever the results are.
Next time tell what year it is, how many miles are on it, which engine option it has, and whether it's RWD or 4WD.
- Why won't my car come out of park? When I tried putting my 1976 Ford Gran Torino into neutral to push it back because it doesn't stay running it wouldn't go out of park I even went under the car to put it into neutral because the linkage is messed up and it still didn't go out of park can someone please tell me what's wrong?
- My 2001 ford taurus acts like it wants to stall when in park? Also it idles very low like and hesitates. The rpm gage fluctuates up and down fast.in real hot weather it starts but dies in park but will start back up in about 10 minutes.
- 2004 Ford Focus, stick shift. When I take it out of gear at a stop light, into neutral, the RPM goes up to nearly 3,000 RPM. Why? When first starting the car, just leaving it neutral, the RPM stays around 2,000. IT only raises when driving, as described above
- I have a 2004 ford explorer XLT. I'm unable to get the car out of park. My break lights do work? I'm at an incline with rear facimg downwards. I've located the break shift interlock slot but not exactly sure how to override it. And yes I do have my foot on the break when switching.
