Which Jeep is the Jeep for me?
I'm 19 years old, and looking to get my own car. I drive a ford explorer sport right now, but it's not taking my daily, full-time commute to college very well so I'm really looking to get a jeep. I like bigger, SUVs and I really don't want a small car. I'm going to look to get financed, and pay a monthly rate, as long as pay the insurance by myself. I know it's hard, but I need to become an adult sometime, right? But anyways, guys, I'm looking to get a Jeep but I can't decide between a Grand Cherokee Laredo, a Patriot, a Commander or a Liberty Sport. I'm looking to stay at 2010 as the max year. If anyone has any of these cars, what are the pros and cons?!
I like Wranglers, but the early JK models with the 3.8L aren't so good and way under powered. I prefer the older TJs with the 4.0L. Jeep Grand Cherokees aren't too bad either and you can find them with the 3.7L V6, 4.7L V8 and the 5.7L Hemi. All are good engines. I'm not too big of a fan of the compact Jeeps such as the Patriot and Compass.
