See it there's a switch at the brake pedal.
You might be able to remove the connector from it.
But plug it back in before you power up and go, because the computer may get confused.
The other poster is correct. There's a stoplight switch connected to the brake pedal and its defective. When this switch goes bad, the brake lights won't come on at all, brake lights will stay on constantly, or the shifter will be stuck in park. Its easy to replace
- 98 ford taurus stuck in gear tail lights won't come on? Everything was fine till I had a taillight out changed it it came on then started it wouldn't come out of gear and tail lights don't work
- 99 Ford ranger XLT base model. Park lights, dash lights, and license plates lights out I checked online and realized it was probably a fuse which it is. Fuse 11 in my power distribution box. The problem is I keep replacing at and soon as I turn on my lights it blows instantly. Have replaced it multiple times. So then I looked under my truck and disconnected the wiring to my taillights and replaced the fuse, it worked it didn't blow. Dash lights and license plates lights were on so I figured some where there's a problem with the brake lights. Any suggestions?
- My Ford Transit headlights turn on in off position and turn off in the on position? I'm a new driver, just passed my test. My van has some issue with the lights: namely, the lights turn off in the on position when the dash lights come on, and turn on when they are supposed to be off. This means that I'm driving at night without dash lights as I need to have the lights switched off in order for my headlights to be on. Might this be an electrical issue? Would anybody be able to give me advice and possibly know how much this costs to repair?
- Middle tail light won't turn off on my 05 mustang? It's a 2005 v6 Ford Mustang. So it's on the tail light on the right side, and it's the middle bulb out of the 3 on the sequential light. And it is always on. The tail lights all work fine, but the one light stays on. Regardless Whether the car is on or off it just stays on. Financially it would be great if I could do this at home, so I d love some help thanks!
