2013 ford explorer, a rattling noise coming out of the opening by the ignition?

I have a 2013 for explorer XLT and just recently a grinding noise started near the ignition to the left up, 11 o clock position about 2" up. I call the dealer and nobody knows what it is or even heard about it, Is not the actuator, I already check on that, inside look like a little motor with a propel, does anybody know the name of the part?

Noise near the ignition switch or the ignition components in the engine?

there's nothing in that photo that shows where a grinding sound could be coming from.

does it happen when you engage the ignition switch?

you may have to look online at some explorer forums to see if anyone else has had that issue

  • Truck makes clicking/rattling noise when in 4X4? I have to use an old '97 Ford Ranger with an auto tranny and auto locking hubs at my workplace. When you turn the electronic switch to 4X4 low or high and accelerate it makes a harsh rattling/clicking noise but the truck will still move. Does this mean the transfer case is shot and I will have to live with 2 wheel drive? Since I sometimes have to drive on grass trails it would be nice to get this thing fixed if it's a simple fix.

I've tried removing the ignition lock cylinder but any video i watch on Youtube tells me to turn the key to replace ignition lock cylinder but i can't do that because its jammed. I've tried jiggling the steering wheel and turning the key but no luck. Pretty sure its the ignition lock cylinder but i can't get the damn thing out without turning the key
