Will a triton v8 from a ford expedition fit in my 1989 thunderbird?
Not gonna do it sense it's the family ford expedition I'm eyeballing, but just wanted to know if I would be able to drop it in… Would mounts be right? Would it connect to the Tranny righy? And would it even fit?
It will be a job, for sure. New tranny, the computer stuff, new fuel pump & a new fuel return line… Instead, why not go with a more period 351W? The 351W can be stroked to 427 & give you 500 hp with a decent street manor…
I don't believe it will fit without major modification. Those tritons are very wide and tall. They are nothing but heads lol. Most of the truck platforms you have to raise the body just to get the engine out or strip the upper engine first.
edit* it will not fit your trans lol, missed that.
The engine should fit but would need new motor mounts. The transmission probably won't connect, it is possible that there's a adapter out there but I would go with a new transmission.
- Is there a Turbocharger kit made to fit a 96 Ford Thunderbird LX 3.8L? I recently bought a 96 Thunderbird and want to give it some more power. I've heard that this particular model wasn't made for turbo's, so the engine won't last while using one. I was curious if anyone has had more extensive experience on this rather than just answering by theory. Either way, which turbo kit will fit? I'll probably add one anyway.
- Is it possible to fit a 2000 ford f150 triton v8 xlt into a 1963 ford f100? I recently got a in a bad rear end in my 2000 ford f150 triton v8 and everything is fine but it's salvaged and i was wondering, since I'm putting in the motor and transmission, can I put the front and rear axle from my 2000 ford f150 into my 1963 ford f100? It would be really cool and unique if I could
- I have a 2004 ford f-150 5.4 triton new body style and the exhaust makes noise? It does not make the noise when i'm in park or neutral however when i put it in reverse or drive it starts making like a ratttle noise? kind of sounds like the ehaust is loose but when my boyfriend checked under it it seemed fine. It only does it about 15 minutes after being started but there's days when there's no noise at all
- Doing the exhaust on my 99 ford f150 xlt 5.4 triton v8 4x4 8in lift 40in tires? I'm going with the magna flow performance true dual 3in outlet, but want to run 45% elbows with MBRP 5in inlet and 8in outlet tips to come out after the rear tires at an angle. How could I get the 3in to an 5in and would it even sound good?
