Car starts and dies in a couple seconds?
Today I went to get gas at the gas station and right when i opened the gas cap the car died and there was a noise that came from the front of the car when it died. The car usually died when i opened the gas cap to put gas in so I thought nothing of it. So I put the gas in it and went to start it started up and it started up for a second and started to spit and sputter and died. I heard a sound like a turbo whining down and started again and same. So I started up and really quick reved it up and kept reving it and it stayed started if I kept reving it up so I drove it home like that. I could not slow down or it would sputter and die. The brakes on it would only work half good to. And i kept hearing that whining sound like a turbo every time a speed up and slowed down. The timing belt and gears just got replaced on it a couple months ago so its not that. I turned the key on and can hear the fuel pump turn on. Can someone please help me with this.Car is a ford escort
You have a big problem with the vacuum lines and evaporative emission system in the car. The new stalling problem is likely because one of the rubber elbows in the PCV plumbing has rotted through and the sound you hear is air getting sucked through a torn oil damaged PCV rubber elbow.
- Estimated range of miles on my car go up and down in seconds? I have a 2009 Altima 2.5 and one minute it says I have 30 miles left to drive and another second it says 14 miles left then it goes to 21 all in seconds. Can someone explain to me what's wrong with my car? I'm sure this car isn't supposed to waste that much gas, unfortunately it feels like I'm Illinois up the tank for a Ford Expidition instead.
- Why does my car speedometer go whackadoodle catywompis a couple of times each year? Every so often my speedometer goes wacky as if it were loose from it's bearings. It will just go flipping all over the place as if being pulled by a magnet. This only happens once or twice a year. I always drive the speed limit so it has nothing to do with driving. It's a 1995 Ford Taurus SW.
- Which car is the overall to keep for a couple of yrs? 1999 Nissan maxima, 1999 Altima, 2006 ford Taurus or 2002 buick lesabre? All of them have low mileage as the Taurus have 69000 and the maxima have the highest of 123000. They all under 1100 bucks.
- Why would my 98 mustang run for 45 seconds and quit running? It's got a new PCM that has been flashed or whatever from a ford dealership, keys have been programmed, new plugs and wires, new coil packs, new battery, new battery connectors, used CCRM, new intake manifold, new fuel pump with fuel pump assembly, and a new fuel filter
