Should I buy a 2005 Fors Escape?

My husband and I are looking to buy a small SUV type vehicle because we have 2 big dogs and we're currently sharing a 2014 Toyota corolla. Time for a second car.

We found a 2005 Ford Escape Limited for 7500$. It has all leather seat, sunroof, roof rack (all the goodies) is a nice color. The mileage is 102,709. I looked up the KBB and it is 6000-8500. The car has been well maintained has a clean title and great carfax. No wrecks, everything looks good. Looks like the car has never had any major problems but has had a few of the necessities replaced.

Do you think this would be a good reliable car? Please tell me your experience if you have a 2005 Ford Escape.

The correct format is $7,500 with the nice comma to indicate thousands. Should you buy a 2005 Ford Escape or should you buy this Ford Escape? It seems that the proper research has been done as to pricing and carfax and the visual inspection. I would recommend that the service records of the car, on file with Ford, also need to be reviewed. I recommend an independent mechanic to check out the vehicle as to current mechanical condition. Pending that I can tell you that this model of Ford has had an excellent reputation with the Ford Escape hybrid also having a stellar reputation. I have a 2008 Mercury Mariner hybrid, Mercury's version of the Escape. It is approaching 100,000 miles and it is in perfect shape. The only issue has been with rust on the rear fenders up towards the top. Other Ford SUV models that share this body style also have had issues at this location. Something as to how the panels were not joined correctly allowing for dirt and moisture and winter salt to do the damage. Once a mechanic agrees as to the condition of the vehicle I think you have a good chance at another 100,000 miles of trouble free performance if you take proper care of the vehicle. Best of luck. What did your mechanic say after the inspection?

Yeah, this means squat without an inspection by a mechanic that YOU chose. If you want If you think those seats will hold up to two large dogs, go for it. No
