You have to swap the transmission to the 2wd (front wheel drive) version. Not difficult, but the transmission will cost $500+ at the junk yard.
Yes, but there's very little reason to. The Escape has an AWD system usually sends 100% of the power to the front wheels under normal conditions anyway.
- What battery should I get for a converted van? I'm in the process of converting my Ford e150 van to live out of it. I want to make it off grid and I will have all my electronics run off of solar. I was wondering what would be a good battery to use if I'm running a cooler fridge, small electronics like toaster oven, and maybe even run a small monitor and Xbox. - How much would it cost to make a 2wd drive f150 into 4wd? So i own a 1985 ford f150 stepside and i freakin love this thing its my first truck bought it myself and frankly the stepside is just sexy. But she's a piece of work! Which is fine. But i was wondering if anyone on here could throw me a price range on making it 4wd, i already need to replace transmission shocks and the rear axel and brakes so yeah! I know its possible and difficult and that a new truck would be more wise but i just wanna know a price range! Any help?
- Can I disable the 4wd on a 95 Ford Explorer? The transfer case is automatically switching in and out. Will even go to 4 lo while driving at high speedsand the switch is in 2wd. Can I disable this so it won't do that.
