Leaving the scene of an minor accident. What to expect at court?

So pretty much got into a minor accident while i was unisured.
I was coming from the library on a rainy day cause i had to go be home to wait for my little brother to get off the bus. But when i was on my way home, I was driving up the road and a green van that was stopped quickly switch to the right lane, had me end up hydroplaning into another person silver 98 ford car just giving my hood a lil dent and righthead cover cracked. I couldnt stop the car enough in time. So i end up rearing them, Everything was minor. My first accident, Never had a record, had insurance when i first got the car, couldnt keep up with the payment so i let my car lapse cause i was switching insurance and my insurance don't take full effect on a thursday. But i end up panicking, scared and i had to get home before my bother bus come within 8 mins, also to mention this happen two block away from my house on the road, So i end up leaving scene having no knowledge i wasn't suppose to leave until the cop came around my house 7 min later after bother got off the bus and my mom pick him up after coming off from work. The officer ask me if was "Blah blah" i answer politely and did exactly what i was told, i show him my ID and registration. Gave my honest to the cop, he respect my honesty. But the other cop the investigating officer came and i ask me what happen. I told him aswell, i got arrested. Got to show up to court in two weeks for PTA. What am i suppose to expect? My first offense?

Probably a stiff fine and a license suspension.

But, look: You have to focus. There's so much unnecessary detail in your story that it's not even funny. From the court's perspective:

You were driving home to meet your little brother at the bus stop. It was raining. You changed lanes and hydroplaned into the rear of another car. You were uninsured. You left the scene of the accident. The police located you. You admitted you were involved in the accident and left the scene.

That's it. That's your entire story in three lines. None of that other stuff matters. As you go through life, remember it's the facts that count.

  • If a car causes another car to swerve and spin-out, is it considered hit-and-run if they leave the scene? On the way to work this morning, I saw a Ford truck cut off a smaller car and the poor car spun out in the rain and ended up facing the opposite direction. This caused the traffic to stop because it looked like the vehicle wouldn't start. The ford truck most likely knew he did that but kept going, instead of stopping. He didn't hit the car or any cars at all during the time. If he didn't actually hit anything, is it still considered hit and run? Should he have stopped?
  • Got into a car accident at 16. What's going to happen? I'm 16 have my learners permit and my mom was in the passenger seat. I was going to turn left and failed to wait and hit a 2000 ford fzx with my 95 Toyota Camry. My front bumper hit the car in the well area and bent it in pretty bad and dented the wheel well and my car really only has a scratch and a crack in the bumper. We both had insurance he had American Family i had statefarm. What's going to happen to me? And what do i need to do?
  • How much will the value of my car change after an accident? I rear ended someone, and my car is in the shop. I just got the estimate that there's $6,000 of damage mainly to the front end. The car itself is a ford focus (2014) and was purchased for around $15,000. Also, when I sell my car it is no longer 'clean' and it is 'rebuilt', correct? thanks! to clear up anymore confusion, I'm going through with the repairs, I wanted to know how much will the value change once its been completely repaired…
